A call was sent out to our League asking for help in support of a long-time league member who had fallen on difficult times.. Our League (his teammates) responded magnificently raising approximately $2,000 in a matter of 5 days. proving once again that we are so much more than a softball league.

Several weeks ago Billy Helms lost his wife of 60+ years. As is our custom, the League determined the preferred charity of the Helms family and WE made a contribution in Lieu of flowers. We received the below from St Paul Catholic Church expressing their gratitude to ALL of us.

On December 9, Hillsborough County hosted a 50+ team Tournament at our complex Benefitting the "Toys for Tot's" Program. Teams of all ages and skill levels competed throughout the day. BSSA entered three teams in a mini Round Robin Tournament.
The winner was John Ownby's team. His team beat the Chadwell 75's by one run and Bob Dowdy's pickup team by four overall differential runs.
